Thundering Women

This was my longest road trip so far for which I was behind the wheel for the whole drive.
(I did cheat and drive up the Bruce so I could ride the Chi-Cheemaun across to Manitoulin.
That was a nice break from driving, plus, any excuse to be in/on/around water for a couple of hours works for me!)

Our ship comes in.

Open wide.

The view from the ferry:

Ahhhhhhh...

I really must find a way to have more of this in my life.

The drive north of Superior was beautiful too - and Wendell's song got lots of airplay in our car!
(Rocks & trees. Trees & rocks. Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots...)

Spent the first night on the road in Wawa
-- significant because that's where we spent the first night
on my first road trip west, way back when I was a wee girl of ten.

The goose seemed a lot bigger when I was ten!

Took LWEB's expensive digital camera up to Thundering Women - then I barely used it!
The Wyrd's concert was Friday evening. I was way too busy dancing to play photographer.
Too bad, 'cause Sunny had the coolest pants on - even cooler than Sumaya's fancy pants - and I didn't get a picture.
I'm just not a very good camera geek, I guess -- and I do have a responsibility to be the dancer!
Oh well. At least I have this pic which Kim shot with her polaroid:

There was a wonderful photographer at the festival, Patte Foreman-Doherty who got some pics of the Wyrds, including an awesome shot of Kiva.
She also took this fabulous picture of me dancing:

(Yes, I am dancing in a wool jacket
and wearing winter-weight running tights beneath my skirt.
It was COLD at Thundering Women!)

I finally pulled out my camera for the closing ceremonies on Sunday evening.
Took some pictures of FRUIT and this pic of the whole gang singing goodnight:
