Using Animations in Second Life

Congratulations! You've just created a beautiful new custom animation and uploaded it into Second Life (or perhaps purchased one, if you're more of a shopper than a content creator). Now what?

There are several ways in which you can use animations to affect how your avatar moves in Second Life. These tutorials explain the basics of when and how to use each method.

  1. Direct Play from Inventory
    (manually play an animation for your eyes only or for the whole world to see)
  2. Gestures
    (create combinations of sound, movement and text for quick access)
  3. Animation Overriders
    (incorporate custom moves into your daily activities)
  4. Pose Balls
    (script furniture and other objects to play animations on an avatar)
